Eighth grade visits Washington, D.C.

CPA eighth grade students recently returned from Washington, D.C. where they toured the nation's capitol, seeing the sights, visiting monuments and museums for an immersive, historical learning experience.
Students visited D.C. for four days, enjoying all that the city has to offer. Led by Head of Middle School Rhonda Smith, the trip was the 25th trip taken by CPA middle school. Students visited the monuments and memorials of Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, MLK, Roosevelt, WWII, Arlington National Cemetery, The White House, the Capitol building, Museum of the Bible, The National Cathedral, and much more.

A highlight of the trip was a sunset cruise on the Potomac River to celebrate Ms. Smith and Ms. Ardnt's 25th trip with CPA eighth graders to the capitol.

"It is an incredible opportunity to show the students the history they've been learning about all year. They've just experienced '40s Day, honoring the greatest generation, and now they get to see all parts of our nation's story come to life," explains MS instructor Patrick Jordan.
