Dear CPA Parents,

Our purpose at Christ Presbyterian Academy is to educate in a way that fosters every student’s unique and God given design with a goal of equipping each student to see through the lens of the Gospel, think through the filter of the Gospel, and engage through the power of the Gospel. Cornerstones for this distinctive approach are a relevant and rich biblical education built around an authentic and engaging discipleship program.
I am thrilled to announce the Reverend Dr. David Filson will lead CPA into the future as Pastor of Theology and Discipleship. His blend of theological acumen, pastoral approachability, and credibility is exactly what we need to move ahead as a pioneer in the realm of Christian education.

Many of you know David as an Associate Pastor for Christ Presbyterian Church, husband to Diane, and dad to CPA senior Luke and CPA freshman Lydia, but David’s impressive and extensive background in vocational pastoral experience and formal theological education will serve to ensure a missionally and denominationally aligned curriculum and discipleship program with an integrated Christian worldview.
“My family and I deeply love the Christ Presbyterian Church and Academy community.” remarked Dr. Filson. “The opportunity, as a pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church, to link arms with the team at the Academy is a great privilege. I look forward to serving alongside Pastor Scott, Nate, Marcia, and the entire leadership team, as we continue to align and celebrate the mission, vision, and values of our church and Academy. I am excited about the wonderful Bible faculty at the Academy and the opportunity we will have in enhancing our Bible curriculum, investing in teacher training, knowing Christ and one another better, and prayerfully giving ourselves to the spiritual nurture and discipleship of the students.”
If you do not already know David, we highly encourage you to read the attached curriculum vitae summary to learn more about this humble yet highly accomplished servant of God. Please join me in welcoming Rev. Dr. David Filson in his expanded role of Pastor of Theology and Discipleship.
