This week CPA MS Concert Choir joined approximately 800 middle school students from across the state to participate in The Middle Tennessee Vocal Association's 2018 Mass Choir.
There they had the privilege to sing under the direction of Dr. Craig Zamer, Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Tennessee Tech University. [Dr. Zamer received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Virginia Tech University. He also holds the M.M.E. and Ph. D. degrees in Music Education and Choral Conducting from The Florida State University.]
Concert Choir sang in a group of 311 students from around the state with a repertoire that included a Modern, Latin, Gospel, and a South African Folk song. Director Karen Joy Thomas said, "Mass Choir is not only a valuable day of learning, it affords the opportunity for CPA students to play on the same team with students from other schools in the area." The day culminated with a final concert performed for family and friends.
