    In today's world we are confronted with people from all walks of life and with all types of backgrounds.  In this workshop we will discuss some of the reasons why people become challenging and some of the strategies you can use to defuse them.

    The Athletic Department is faced with many legal challenges on a daily basis.  In this workshop we will look at the 14 legal duties that every athletic administrator is held to along with his staff and coaches.  We will examine court case precedent in each of these legal duties to prepare you and your department when a situation arises.
  • Athletic Leadership: Eric Liddell, A Pyramid, and the Value of Education Based Athletics

    Society places a high value on athletics with a win-at-all-costs mentality beginning at the Lower School Level. We will examine the true definition of success as inspired by the lives of Olympic Champion Eric Liddell, and the Legendary English Teacher and Coach John Wooden. WWII had a direct affect on both. One was a prisoner of war while the other served in the Navy, and their lessons are relevant now as much as they were during their years on earth.

  • Transformational Athletics: Leading from the Inside Out

    The win-at-all costs athletic culture that we find ourselves in today adversely affects everyone - coaches, parents, and, most of all, students. The old adage tells us that, "Sports build character", but in actuality, in many communities - even faith communities, athletics cause more harm than good. However, for those brave coaches and administrators that have a desire to reclaim the power of athletics for its potential to help and grow young people, there are a few key practices that can turn athletics into a transformational experience for all involved.
