  • Creative Dramatics 3-5 Workshops

    Grades: 3-5
    Teacher: Carrie Estes
    Meeting Day: Wednesdays
     
    All children have inherently creative. And it is a quality that thrives in every area of life when it is nourished. Creative Dramatics is a vehicle to stimulate their intrinsic ability and to encourage imagination, innovative thinking and problem solving in students while building collaboration skills through teamwork.   Engaging in theatre games, pantomime and sound and design activities 3rd – 5th grade students explore folk and fairy tales, historical elements and personal experiences to generate their own original story-telling, and story-acting while growing in confidence and self-expression. Fun filled with inspiration and discovery is the order of the day!
  • MS Jazz Club

    Jazz Club: Have you been in band but want to play jazz? Are still interested in playing your instrument, but couldn't fit it in your schedule? Well, the Jazz Club is for you. In this club, we will be learning and performing jazz music. Students will also be introduced to other useful music tools, such as figuring out chords and melodies by ear, transcribing music, learning about how chords work, jazz improvisation, and more!
     
    Jazz Club will meet on Mondays from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in the HS Band Room.  To register, visit MyCPA > Open Registrations.

  • Salt and Light Studio

    For grades 11-12.

    The Salt & Light Studio provides a forum for juniors and seniors to connect on the intersection of arts and faith with professionals from music, film, theatre, dance, visual arts, or arts business, and to vibrantly engage with peers on personal art making in the context of their faith journey. The Studio gathers at catered lunch meetings once a month in theGathering Room (CPC building) following Chapel.

    Applications, available on MyCPA>Arts and in the Arts suite, will be accepted through Wednesday, August 23, with the first lunch meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 30.

    Engaging in movement exercises and word and sound games, K-2nd grade students explore nursery rhymes, folk tales, and nature and animal stories to generate their own original storytelling and story-playing while growing in confidence and self-expression. Fun filled with inspiration and discovery is always the order of the day!
  • Pep Band / Drumline

    For grades 6-12.

    This extracurricular ensemble group led by Director Max Fulwider will equip musicians at all levels to sharpen performance skills, provide entertainment and increase school spirit at designated football and basketball games. It is open to beginning and advanced students.

    All Pep Band rehearsals will take place Fridays after school from 3-5 p.m. during each season. To register, visit MyCPA > Open Registrations.
  • Middle School Drama Club

    With emphasis on musical theatre, creative collaboration, and improv, this club will offer fun and engaging learning experiences for students.

    MS Drama club takes place in the MS Music Room on Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m., Quarters 1, 2 and 4. To register, visit MyCPA > Open Registrations.

  • Middle School Visual Art Club

    This extracurricular opportunity is a place for friends to engage with each other in the art studio, hone their art skills, work on group projects, use their creativity to give back to the community and make and create in a relaxed, fun setting. Art Club gives students the freedom to explore the art mediums of drawing, painting, and sculpting in a personalized atmosphere.  Do you enjoy making art but always wish you could take it in a direction that you have never been able to try before?  Art Club is the perfect setting to try some things beyond what is covered in class, connect with peers and enjoy the freedom to dream up some new ideas all on your own!

    Visual Art Club will take place on Tuesdays from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in the MS Art Room. Register online at MyCPA > Open Registrations.

  • Middle School Dance Team

    Middle School Dance Team offers 6-8th grade girls the experience to develop their gifts of dance as they grow in leadership at CPA. The Team performs at football and basketball halftimes and pep rallies. They are also exposed to jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and lyrical styles of dance as they take part in the musical and the Middle School Fine Arts Showcase.  
     
  • Upper School Dance Team

    Upper School Dance Team is showcased in contemporary and lyrical work during Coffeehouse Theatre, polished and technically challenging dances in athletic venues, and diverse styles of dance as part of the main stage play and musical. Their culminating event, combined with music students, is Spring Jubilation. These dancers commit to individually pursue discipline and excellence in their art and they also invest their talents to make an impact in the success of the team.  
  • Salt and Light Studio

    The Salt & Light Studio exists to bring students into relevant, engaging connections with professional arts culture-shapers in order to hear their stories, learn from their artistic and spiritual journeys and find encouragement to listen for God’s still small voice to discover their own unique paths in life. An important aspect of the Salt & Light Studio is to provide students with an opportunity to create and execute a project of their choosing to positively affect an aspect of the culture of the CPA High School through creativity.
  • Theatrical Performances

    Theatrical Performances occur throughout the school year. Open auditions and crew opportunities for the middle school musical occur annually for middle schoolers. Upper school students have such venues throughout the year as Coffeehouse Theatre, adjunct roles in the annual Bistro, Children’s Theatre, mainstage plays, and the high school spring musical including crew positions for all productions.
  • Honor Societies

    CPA students in visual arts, music, and theatre have the opportunity to attain recognition through three esteemed organizations for high school students in America:   National Art Honor Society, Tri M, and International Thespians.
