Freshman Addi Gerlach wins gold and silver key awards in Scholastic Art Competition

Freshman Addi Gerlach has been awarded two Gold Key awards, two Silver Key awards, and an honorable mention from the Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Competition for her drawing illustrations and painting.
Addi entered her art with thousands of other submissions from across the state, advancing past mostly juniors and seniors to win these prestigous awards. The Scholastic Art Competition awarded 49 Middle Tennessee art students Gold Key awards, 99 Silver Key awards and 203 Honorable Mentions.

Regional gold key recipients are eligible for scholarships and cash prizes, are part of the exhibition at Cheekwood, and have their work sent to New York City for national judging. Addi's pieces will be on display in Cheekwood’s Frist Learning Center Courtyard Gallery through March 5 before going on to be judged by the national panel in New York.

"She (Addi) has such incredible talent. It's wonderful to see her work recognized. We are so proud of her creativity and passion," says Instructor of Upper School Art Mimi Stricker.
