CPA honors seniors heading to military academies

CPA hosted an on-campus pinning ceremony for seniors Francesca Moore and Matthew Miller, both graduating to prestigious military academies U.S. Air Force Academy and West Point.
Francesca Moore will be attending the U.S. Air Force Academy on a full-ride, four-year scholarship. Matthew Miller will be attending West Point as a second generation attendee and has also received a full-ride, four-year scholarship. Both students underwent the rigorous and competitive admissions processes to these elite institutions and are among the small percentage of applicants accepted each year.

Francesca and Matthew will both serve five years of active military duty following their training at these academies. In the pinning ceremony, representatives from each school spoke and presented Francesca and Matthew with a pin and certificate from the President of the United States. Matthew's father, Captain Tyler Miller (West Point graduate Class of 1990), spoke on his behalf, sharing sentiments on the West Point legacy with his son. Both students delivered remarks thanking friends and family for the love and support throughout their individual journeys.

Standing ovations were had as the community honored the integrity and passion of these two students joining, as Head of Upper School Dr. Parker Altman put it, "something much bigger than themselves."
