Sixth grade service day across Nashville

Sixth Grade Service Day sent middle school students across the city of Nashville for service and community engagement with some of the city's non-profit groups.
Students grouped in advisories served in a variety of capacities, including clearning, gardening, and even hanging out with local senior citizens! See their service sights below:

Advisory leader Keri Perry describes her group's experience spending time with residents at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living:

"We had a great service day last week. Serving at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living turned out to be a treat for both residents and our students. I was amazed at the way students loved and served the residents. We organized their library, participated in chair yoga, and played BINGO with them! We finished off the morning with time to chat with the residents about their lives. As we were leaving, the director told me that it had been so dreary recently with the cold weather, and that our presence was refreshing, like a ray of sunshine, to them."
