Golf senior A Jacks Green makes Junior PGA Championship

CPA Senior A Jacks Green has played on many golf courses but playing at the iconic Valhalla Golf Club in Junior PGA Championship will be one he never forgets.
Green joined 144 junior golfers including 74 players committed to play collegiate golf to compete at Valhalla Golf Club for the 43rd Boys Junior PGA Championship on July 31-Aug. 3.  Green reached the championship by winning Tennessee Junior PGA Championship.
One of golf’s major championships for juniors, the Boys Junior PGA Championship is where the best in the world get their start including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Jordan Spieth.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus, Valhalla is ranked as one of the Top 100 courses in America. It has hosted some iconic events in PGA of America history, led by the famous Tiger Woods-Bob May duel in 2000—which many consider being the greatest PGA Championship ever—and the United States’ upset win over Europe in the 2008 Ryder Cup.
Green shot a score of 71 in round 1 and 76 in round 2 to make the cut, top 70 players. He would battle the next two days to finish 14 over par and tied 69th for the championship.
Green will look to defend his title as TSSAA Division II-A individual state champion again this year but wants to see his team compete for a team state championship as well. A Jacks has committed to play collegiate golf at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tn.
Green and fellow senior Gavin Clements will be competing this weekend in the American Junior Golf Association Junior Championship at Big Sky Golf Course in Big Sky, Montana.
