Dear CPA Family,

Each year, as we begin planning for another exciting arts season, I prayerfully consider a theme that will unite our many events—musicals, plays, concerts, showcases, exhibitions, dance performances, video premiers (and more!)—and give deeper meaning to the creative journey we walk together. This year, as I contemplated the titles we’ve chosen and the many exciting events on our calendar, I kept coming back to the theme of “Dreams.”

From the visions of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, to Ariel’s longing for a life beyond the sea in The Little Mermaid Jr, to Emma Woodhouse’s bold aspirations in Emma and the dreams expressed through song, art, film and dance across our campus—this season invites our students not just to imagine, but to create from the depths of their God-given dreams.

In Scripture, dreams are more than imagination—they are often how God reveals His will, offers encouragement, and calls His people into deeper trust. Joseph’s story reminds us that even when dreams take unexpected turns, God is at work weaving a greater plan. Likewise, our students’ artistic expressions often reflect their hopes, questions, and growth—mirroring their journey of faith.

As we bring these stories to life on stage, screen, in galleries, and in concerts, we also encourage our students to recognize the ultimate Dream-Giver—our Creator. He has planted purpose and creativity in each of us. Our goal is not simply excellence in the arts, but worship through them. We want every brushstroke, every note, every script and dance step to be a response to God’s grace and goodness.

This year’s season includes musicals, plays, concerts, dance performances, an art show, film night, the always-joyful Coffeehouse and so much more. Each event will echo the theme of dreams and remind us that God is still speaking, inspiring, and moving through the arts.

We invite you to dream with us this year—celebrating how the arts can point us to beauty, truth, and to the One who has a perfect plan for each of our lives.

With anticipation and joy,
Jake Speck
Artistic Director
