The College Counseling
department works with students in grades 9 through 12 to facilitate the transition between upper school and college. The process moves from more generalized programs for freshman and sophomores to increasingly individualized services for upperclassmen. The goals are to assist students with intentional discernment that leads to thoughtful action to assist students to examine their interests, goals and passions.
It is through this process that students can select appropriate post-secondary institutions.
The goal is for each student who graduates from CPA to matriculate to a post-secondary experience that is an optimal match for their personality and interests, and the choice will be a place where they can develop academically, socially and spiritually into a young adult equipped to do God’s work in the world.
A primary component of this process is fostering student independence. Empowering students to take resopnsibility for their college search and application process prepares them for the large amount of independence needed for a successful college experience.
