After-school Programs

Sparking New Interests

Middle school students may participate in a variety of after-school offerings. CPA's after-school programs feature diverse activities and a fun atmosphere; students can learn everything from Lego Robotics to musical theatre, hip-hop, or sculpting. There's something for everyone! 

Fall 2019 offerings are for students in grades K-8 and include topics to fit many interests. Explore each offering and register here. Classes begin August 26, 2019. 

Fall 2019 Middle School After-school Programs

Adventure Club

Adventure Club
Monday/$300 -- $25 climbing fees--(3 – 4:30 p.m.)
Instructors: Ben Crist, Bo Morrisey, and Leslie Ponder

Ever wanted to learn how to fly fish?  Come and learn how to set up a fly rod, knot tie, cast, and fish with your fly rod.  Have you ever played Bocce Ball or been rock climbing? This Adventure Club will rotate different experiences throughout the 12 weeks.

Drama Club

Drama club is a troupe of actors and performers that are charged and ready to launch into the theatre world inside and outside the classroom! If you love theatre and want to perform in scenes with your friends—this is the place for you! We will be attending forensics competition in the fall at Father Ryan and have some top secret plans for the spring in preparation for a showcase at the end of the year. Get ready to create characters, expand the actor’s toolbox, and make friends with fellow performers. 

FIRST Lego League

Monday/Friday: 3 – 4:30
$600 (fall/spring semester)

FLL team builds robots to compete with other local schools. The league collaborates globally and innovates a creative solution for each year’s theme. Sessions are Monday and Friday. 

Jazz / Hip-Hop

Jazz/Hip Hop
Monday/$300 (3 – 4:30 p.m.)
Instructor: Margaret Ann Owens

Combining basic jazz technique with the upbeat urban dance moves of Hip Hop focus will be on proper dance technique with upper and lower body conditioning, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, patterns and combinations. Dancers will grow in flexibility, coordination, rhythm, confidence and self-expression.

Fun, upbeat music and choreography will shape the work with developmentally appropriate lyrics/movements. On the final day there will be a Dance Observation where students will demonstrate their work from the semester. (Dance attire: black leotard, light tan tights, tan jazz shoes, black shorts or leggings and hair pulled back).

The STEM Club challenges the students with completing the design process of multiple projects using engineering software that helps with design and testing before they build their projects.


Visual Arts Club

Art Club gives students the freedom to explore the art mediums of drawing, painting and sculpting in a personalized atmosphere. This is the perfect place to try some things beyond what is covered in class, connect with peers and enjoy the freedom to dream up some new ideas all on your own!
