The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) presented three athletic administrators, each who have served with great effort and integrity, three major NIAAA awards this year. Among those awarded was CPA Athletic Director Mike Ellson, honored with the Frank Kovaleski Professional Development Award. 

This award indicates rigorous dedication to professional development and programmatic growth on behalf of CPA Athletics. Ellson has also been honored as a recipient of the NIAAA State Award of Merit in 2007 and the Jim Teff Achievement Recognition in 2018 for innovative and collaborative leadership. Included in the many tangible bi-products of Mike's efforts is CPA's unique recognition through the Quality Program Assessment (QPA) in 2018, a national indicator of excellence in every aspect of athletic programming.
