CPA Middle School presents Two Chairs and a Lie

CPA Middle School presents Two Chairs and a Lie. Read a note about the production from MS Theatre Instructor Kira Buell.

Welcome to 40 minutes of hilarity and fun! This show is full of larger than life characters and is sure to bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine,” and our aim is to provide good medicine for the soul. There are clowns, bandits, bus dentists - yes, you read that correctly - and even some dancing custodians. Be prepared for a wild ride! But the gem of the show is summed up in one short line. “I told one little white lie about where I work, but…” There’s always an excuse, isn’t there? Always a reason that we do that little thing we know is wrong. Often, the small things aren’t noticed, and they don’t seem to matter. But, just like in this show, the little things often reveal where we place our identity. Our small choices as well as our big choices affect the people around us, often more than we realize. When we believe we aren’t worth much, we feel the need to prove or hide. But when we know who we are in Christ, we can stand on a firm foundation and be truthful even when we make mistakes. This show also reminds us to be gracious and forgiving to those around us. We all make mistakes, and we can choose to hold a grudge or forgive and build stronger relationships. God has forgiven all our sins, and we must, in return, forgive those around us. It is often more difficult to make those small, right choices that don’t seem to matter, but those choices are the seeds that grow joy in our lives. And that joy can overflow to those around us. Let’s be good medicine to the soul of the world.

There are three opportunities to see the show premiering on February 20th. Tickets are available here
