TICE (The Institute of Cultural Engagement) Law+Advocacy students enjoyed a two-day intensive with award-winning hosts Alice Shih LaCour & Brett Talley of The Prosecutors Podcast. Alice is a native Texan and graduate of Yale Law School who is a litigation partner at Hilgers Graben, PLLC. She recently served as First Assistant and Criminal Chief at the US Attorney's office in Alabama. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Brett graduated from Harvard Law School and now collaborates with Alice weekly to bring a unique perspective to famous cold cases.
On day one, Alice and Brett shared about their experience as prosecutors as well as what they believe students can do today to protect and improve the U.S. Justice System. Day two featured a roundtable discussion wherein students briefed Alice and Brett on the facts of a case they've studied closely in class. Students presented case questions and theories, some of which may be featured on an upcoming episode of The Prosecutors Podcast.
