Experience Design Executive John Roberson speaks at TICE Sojourn

This week, CPA hosted John Roberson as a TICE Sojourn speaker for upper school students. Roberson is the CEO and “Chief Cheerleader” of Advent, an experience design agency that has completed over 2,500 projects, including Stanford University’s Home of Champions, the Dallas Cowboys’ 91-acre World Headquarters, the University of Oregon Student Welcome Center, the Nebraska College of Business, and the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Honor.

Roberson shared his journey from his first job packing tomatoes on his uncle’s farm to working in consumer products, database marketing, home shopping television, and creating unique consumer experiences. Roberson introduced the acronym C.A.R.E. to explain how his team works together to create unique experiences for audiences: Curate, Amaze, Reward, and Engage. The secret to an impactful experience is the emotion and connection you are able to elicit from the viewer.

Roberson also emphasized the importance of and encouraged students to build relationships with those working around them. He explained that when we are curious, we have the opportunity to learn and value the stories around us, which allows us to better step into God’s call on our lives. He affirmed that God had gifted each of our students with unique abilities and that, by following God, they would learn where to use them.

We are grateful that our upper school students had the opportunity to hear this uplifting message.
