CPA Welcomes Dr. Nate Miley as Head of Middle School

CPA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Nate Miley as the new Head of Middle School, joining the MS administration in January 2023.

Dr. Miley comes to CPA with seventeen years of experience as an educator, most recently serving as Executive Principal of Crieve Hall Elementary School (CHES), a Metro Nashville Public School (MNPS).

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Taylor University, Dr. Miley pursued a Master of Education degree (MEd) at Indiana Wesleyan University, followed by an Educational Specialist degree (EdS) in School Administration from Indiana State University, and a Doctor of Education degree (EdD) in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State University.

Dr. Miley’s years of classroom teaching experience in Indiana ignited his passion for the learning process, engaging with students, and building an atmosphere of trust and connection to facilitate growth. Transitioning into school leadership at CHES in Nashville continued to highlight his ability to motivate faculty and staff to their highest potential, building a tight-knit community with transparent leadership, student-centric strategies, and data-informed progress. The school was awarded #1 best elementary school in Davidson County in 2018 and continued to earn high honors from the state in 2018, 2019, and 2022.

Head of School Nate Morrow shares: “In getting to know Dr. Miley, it is clear that he is passionate about Jesus and students. He is committed to relationships, discipleship, high quality education, and fun. I am thrilled to have a front row seat to watch how the Lord works through him as a part of our community.”

Dr. Miley shares a deep commitment to the mission of CPA as well as an authentic appreciation of middle school students—boys and girls rapidly developing a sense of self, intellectual curiosity, personal faith, quirkiness, and ultimately hunger for belonging as they become young men and young women. His devotion to Christian worldview in all aspects of the student experience will inform and guide CPA Middle School to continue its tradition of excellence in growing students academically and spiritually, ultimately preparing them for upper school.

“Humbled and blessed are the two words that best describe how I feel. From the moment I set foot on campus and started meeting CPA staff, the genuine love, real community, and passion for excellence in Christian education was at the forefront. To be able to join the CPA community and be a part of Christ’s work in the lives of this community is something I never could have imagined,” says Dr. Miley.
