Christ Presbyterian Academy
CPA to Participate in Tennessee's Education Freedom Scholarship Program

The Academy announced an exciting update regarding tuition support opportunities available to K-12 CPA families for the upcoming school year. After careful consideration and review with school leadership and Board of Trustees, CPA will participate in the State of Tennessee’s Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) program beginning in the 2026-27 school year.

As part of this program, qualifying K-12 families may apply for an annual scholarship, anticipated to be approximately $7,300 per student. If awarded a scholarship, these funds will be placed in a third-party account controlled by the parent who will then send the funds to CPA to be applied toward tuition costs.

Private schools participating in the EFS program retain the maximum freedom to provide for the educational needs of students without governmental control. Schools are not required to alter their creed, practices, admissions policies, hiring policies, or curriculum in order to accept scholarship recipients. Participation aligns with the fourth initiative of CPA’s 2030 strategic plan Truer, focused on Truer Opportunity, as it will provide meaningful tuition support to families seeking Christian education.

Families are encouraged to learn more about the program, including application timelines and eligibility criteria, by visiting the Tennessee Department of Education website. Information on when the application window will open and how to apply will be posted there as it becomes available. An FAQ regarding the program is also available here, on My CPA>All-School Parent Info, and cpalions.org/tuition. Additionally, Academy leadership will host an informational webinar in early 2026 to answer and parent questions.

We are excited for the ways the EFS program may help make a CPA education more affordable for families, while allowing us to maintain full educational independence rooted in our mission.
