During CPA Upper School's College Week, representatives from 39 colleges and universities visited CPA, giving students the opportunity to learn about schools from across the country and even overseas. Students explored colleges close to home, such as Belmont University and Trevecca University in Tennessee, or consider schools much farther away, including Pepperdine University in California and Durham University in England.

College spirit wasn't limited to the visiting representatives. Students were encouraged to wear college shirts throughout the week, creating a colorful display of college pride around campus. Students also had the opportunity to talk with their teachers about where they attended college, giving them a chance to hear firsthand about different college experiences and paths after high school.

Students also competed in a “Human Bingo” competition that tasked them with discovering information about faculty college experiences in hopes of winning a Chick Fil A gift card. The activities of college week were designed to open doorways to conversation and create opportunities for students to learn and hear a little more about the college experience and start developing a pathway for their own story to take.

Eleventh grader, Kendall Knoch says, “I went to a lot of visits because I wanted to learn as much as I possibly can so I can have as much knowledge going into my senior year to really know what I’m applying for and really know what I’m looking for in a college. It was valuable for me because I’m the oldest sibling so I don’t know much about college, and I honestly had no idea what I wanted going into college, and seeing all these different colleges really narrowed my options down.”

Whether students were drawn to the energy of a large university, the close-knit environment of a small college, a particular academic program, a strong athletic tradition or simply a new part of the country, College Week encouraged students to start thinking about an important question: Where could I see myself next? With 39 colleges visiting campus, students had the opportunity to discover just how many possibilities are out there. A massive thank you goes out to our amazing CPA College Counseling Team for organizing this week!
