CPA Athletics announces Jill Brothers and Ann Moore as the new coaches for Varsity Girls Tennis. Brothers and Moore have seen firsthand the life lessons one can gain through the sport: perseverance, determination, responsibility, self-discipline, honesty, dedication, and accountability.
Originally from Colorado, Jill (pictured left) and her husband, Rex Brothers (Nashville native), have been together in Tennessee for ten years. She started playing tennis in high school and quickly excelled as she played in USTA Intermountain tournaments around several states. Her senior year she earned a tennis scholarship to play at CSU-Pueblo, Division II. Jill has continued to play competitively, earning the 2019 Southern title of #1 player in her age division. Jill is currently working on her USTA tennis pro certification. Jill knows competition well, as her husband is a former MLB relief pitcher. She is also a mother of four (three of whom attend CPA) and is passionate about discipleship. Jill has an undergraduate degree in Communications from The University of Colorado—Colorado Springs and a Master’s of Practical Theology from The King’s University.
Ann (pictured right) was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She attended Ensworth K-8 and graduated high school from Brentwood Academy in 1992. Ann played in junior tournaments throughout the South and eventually earned a number-one ranking in Tennessee at 17. She went on to play D1 tennis for Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was named MVP two years consecutively. Ann still competes in the USTA and just recently qualified for and competed at nationals in Arizona. She has worked at various clubs and has also coached at Brentwood Academy for the girls high school team. Ann has an undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communications from Samford University, and she has three children. Eli, a Junior at Auburn, Olivia, a senior at CPA and Max, a sixth grader at CPA.
