CPA announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Class of 2026

Christ Presbyterian Academy is pleased to recognize the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2026. Announced this week, Paige Burson (Valedictorian) and Lucy Haywood (Salutatorian) have earned the two highest academic honors bestowed on CPA graduates.

Combined, Paige and Lucy have enrolled in 18 Honors and 20 Advanced Placement courses in their four years in the CPA Upper School and have an average GPA of 4.539. Both Paige and Lucy will graduate with an AP Capstone Diploma and be recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction.

While in upper school, Paige has been a member of The Institute for Cultural Engagement (TICE) and will earn endorsements from both the Center for Inquiry & Design and the Center for Law & Advocacy at Commencement. In addition, Paige has participated in CPA’s mountain biking, track, and cross country teams, while also serving as a senior Freshman Bible Intern. Lucy played volleyball and basketball at CPA, taking her team to the state finals in volleyball and earning All-State honors.

Head of Upper School Bryant Gunter said, “It is a joy to celebrate Paige and Lucy for the distinction they have earned through years of disciplined scholarship and faithful stewardship of their gifts. Their pursuit of excellence reflects not only remarkable ability, but a deep commitment to honoring Christ in all they have undertaken. They have embraced the challenge of rigorous study while investing in our school, leading with humility, and seeking to view every endeavor through the lens of God’s truth. We are incredibly thankful for the impact they have had on the Upper School, and we can’t wait to see how the Lord will use their lives for His glory in the years ahead.

We are immensely proud of all that these students have accomplished in their time at CPA, and we look forward to hearing Paige and Lucy offer their valedictory and salutatory remarks at Commencement on May 17.
