Welcome to CPA. We're glad you are here! Helping new families connect within the CPA community is very important to us, so we have a few social events before school starts each year just for New-To-CPA folks. We hope you will look forward to joining us for these opportunities.
June
In June, your family will receive some information by mail from , our Welcome Team Coordinator. She will inform you of the events planned for late summer that will give you and your student(s) the opportunity to meet staff and current CPA families. Pertinent information regarding everything from carpool to uniforms will also be included.
July
By mid-July, your family will receive an invitation to a grade/gender-specific social event for all New-To-CPA families in your grade, as well as a few current families. Usually a pool party or a cookout, these get-togethers are intended to help new students meet the other new students in their grade, in addition to a few current students. Invitations to these events are not extended to the entire grade (with the exception of kindergarten), so the new students can meet several other students in a manageable setting. Parents are encouraged to stay and meet the other parents. These events occur in late July.
August
New-To-CPA Parent Desserts will take place during the first two weeks of August. Parents (without students) are invited to a current family’s home for a time of fellowship followed by a question-and-answer session with the respective principal. Other key administrators also attend, allowing new families a chance to put names and faces together. An invitation will be mailed to all new familes that includes the host’s address. The dates for this year’s desserts are:
High School: Tuesday, August 2, at 7 p.m.
Middle School:
7th/8th Grade Parents — Thursday, August 4, at 7 p.m.
6th Grade Parents — Thursday, August 11, at 7 p.m.
Kindergarten: Monday, August 8, at 7 p.m.
First through Fifth Grades: Wednesday, August 10, at 7 p.m.
The Welcome Back DEN-ner will take place the evening of the first home football game, Friday, August 19, CPA vs. Goodpasture. New and "old" families will gather for supper on the high school patio. CPA football games are a special time, drawing members of our community from the youngest of students to alumni and grandparents. **New families, including younger siblings, will have supper provided for them at the kick-off event. Don’t miss this chance to meet other CPA families and cheer on our Lions!
