Seventh Grade Greek Festival Day

  • Oct 21, 2011

To celebrate their recent study of ancient Greece, our seventh grade students traveled to The Parthenon in Centennial Park on Thursday, Oct. 20, to participate in competitions of their own versions of Olympic games.

On Friday, Oct. 21, the students continued the celebration by hosting a Greek Festival in CPA's Event Center, performing A Day in the Life: The Golden Age of Greece. The play included all of the students acting in a variety of roles based on the arts, philosophy, history, mythology, athletics and politics of ancient Greece. Students and faculty donned ancient-Greek attire and treated parents to a catered Greek meal. Student artwork based on the culture was on display. The unit enlightened students about the influence of all things Greek on multiple aspects of modern society and culture.
